Best time for photographing lavender in Provence

I’ve just returned from a few days in Provence, where the lavender fields were in full bloom and ripe for landscape photography.

Capturing the lavender fields of provence at their best when the lavender is in full bloom requires visiting around late June and early July, which falls just before the traditional harvest date. 

A week or two later and you risk the lavender being harvested — July 15th traditionally marks the harvest festival in Valensole and Dignes’…

Scaleber Force is a wonderfull photography location. A multi-tiered waterfall, Scaleber sits deep inside a moss drenched gorge in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, its narrow verdant gorge having all the hallmarks is of something from a Tolkien novel.
