Speakes Mill

Shot on a very rainy walk along the Devon Coast.

The tide was roaring in a few meters behind me as the ‘mouth’ of the Falls spewed an impressive volume of rainwater back into the Atlantic.

The preceding days storm meant she was in full spate; I couldn’t get near the actual falls for sheets mist and the sheer flow of water.

Moving down the beach hunting around all this jumbled Devonian stone till I found this slab, around which the torrent was whirling.
