Venford Falls, Dartmoor in Spring

Spring falls

A burst of verdant Spring greens after a weekend deluge on Dartmoor.

The water was as high as I’ve seen it here in 3 visits to this magical little waterfall so much so it almost merged the twin falls.

Been slightly obsessed by this mossy boulder and it’s fern as foreground fodder since last autumn, but the river levels always been too low, or the fern too small. Today it was just so.

The backlit forest was a unexpected plus, despite the horrendously early start.
