Rusting industrial remains high in Dinorwic Quarry

The height of this level always strikes me, a very deep cut into the mountain that stretches from the base of the lake almost to the top of Glyn Fawr

On this particular day, low lying cloud was dragging across the peaks adding the sense of height and scale.

The edifices of the galleries stacked on top of each other dwarf the remnants of mine workings and the sporadic trees that have reclaimed small swatches of the quarry on this exposed section.
