Standing on the shore of Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon was a truly elemental experience.
In the blue hour, the sea was still, the fog and cloud lowering visibility to fleeting glimpses of the glacier and ice cap.
The still air was punctuated by distant deep cracking sounds of caving icebergs at the glacier terminal, and the sound of icebergs rolling further out in the lagoon.
This mini ‘berg was caught on the shore, several weeks in the lagoon having melted it to a stunning crystalline jewel like form.
