My 4th visit to Sgwd Gwaldus, a truly stunning waterfall.
Waterfall photography is very ‘goldilocks’, the right volume of water, ideally overcast, low to now wind, ideally after rain. Layer in chasing peak Autumn, that’s a lot of variables.
This Autumn the trees over the falls were peaking bright yellow and there was lovely russet in the gorge, the leaves having resisted the winds.
This giant rock caught my eye, a great dominant element. It’s angular shape led to the base of the falls, and the shadows of the falls amphitheater contrasting wonderfully with the brilliant colours in the gorge above.
