After bumping into Steven Christenson at Möbius Arch at sunrise, he was kind enough to show me one of his favourite locations in the Alabama Hills, known locally as the Ladyboot.
A tortured, squat, somewhat ugly formation, which on its own wasn't that photogenic, especially as the late morning location meant we faced shooting into the sun.
It had a certain charm though, and tucking low underneath the arch, I found these huge dough ball like boulders at the shaded base.
Covered in rich lichens they made for interesting foreground to shoot up at the arch, whilst a swirl like cloud formation formed above its peak.
