Sunrise over the hermitage of Roche Rock in Cornwall

The hermitage

Early morning light hits Roche Rock.

Meandering around just after sunrise I found these large granite boulders surrounded by lush ferns.

From this vantage point, the hermitage appears like an organic extension of the rocks, rather than something imposed upon them.

It’s long lost roof could almost be mistaken for the craggy tops of the granite peaks.
