The Land That God Forgot is a deep hole burrowed into the Snowdonia hillside in pursuit of slate.
The only sense of the long abandoned slate workings is the existence of the two giant pillars that rise above the carpet of silver birch that have reclaimed the quarry on nature’s behalf.
Mist drifted in the valley, shrouding the mountains around Llanberis, further adding a sense of a landscape lost to time.
This may well soon become a forgotten vista, with planning in this valley for a battery dam that will see this pit flooded and the view forever lost.
