Eight long miles up Left Fork Creek, is the tunnel shaped formation known as the Subway .
Here the cliffs narrow to a few feet, whilst towering a thousand feet above you. In the base of the canyon the river's carved a semi circular tube snakes along for no more than a few hundred metres, with deep pools collecting the rivers flow.
At a certain time of the day, the sun hits the upper high canyon walls, reflecting back down into the Subway and illuminating its' sides. This orange light contrasted magically with the deep blue pools creating some ethereal light inside the Subway. Subdued yet bright, rich yet dull, seemingly all at once.
